Originally built in 1922 as a Shriners hospital, our building was founded on a mission of compassion, offering free or low-cost care to children from all walks of life. Today, it stands as a rare and striking example of Italian Renaissance architecture and one of San Francisco’s few remaining pre–World War II hospital structures.
